Professionally Practicing UI/UX For Twelve Years
Starting in 2012, I began my journey in the design field once I was accepted in to Laguna College of Art + Design’s Graphic Design program. During my time there I put a heavy focus on UI/UX design, but also practiced all forms of design, including; package design, apparel design, communications design, branding & identity design, and the basics of composition, typography, and color studies. After a few years, I received my BFA for design in 2017.
It was in 2016 however, I started working in my career field as a product designer. While finishing up school, I joined Live Nation Entertainment as an intern at Ticketmaster. For the first year there, I worked as a junior designer that handled plenty of data-driven deck designing, visual design solutions for numerous AB tests across the ticket marketplace, and lead design for an internal data sharing website to power insights for the company’s executive team. This internship caught the attention of leaders in the business and eventually was offered a full-time position after graduating.

Areas of Focus
User Driven Designing
My main focus is constantly trying to make design solutions online that is going to work great for actual people. Placing myself in the eyes of someone else when going through an experience is my strongest attribute when it comes to this field.
prototyping
My strongest ability when it comes to visual design in this field is the ability to get an experience whipped up together quickly. I have confidence in the tooling I use frequently (Primary is Figma) and enjoy going above and beyond to prototype full dashboards for nearly every project I work on.
visual design
While making sure things work is one thing, I also care tremendously that an experience is going to be visually appealing as well. Things can work great, but if there is no balance of white space and visual hierarchy, it may fall flat at the end of the day.
innovative thinking
My favorite thing to do is combining all the other strengths and focusses that I use to always think about what a better path forward can be. Whether it be a small update with a big win or an entirely different experience to roadmap, I’m normally in the mindset of 5-15 years down the road.
technology trends
I’m constantly keeping up with technology trends and weighing pros and cons within them constantly. I am one that will typically have lengthy conversations about the present & future implications with anyone willing. I care tremendously about the balance of tech and humanity.
research & insights
I respond best to data/analytics and enjoy looking at those together to power the best possible solution for any given project or area that needs improving. I tend to keep research to an “as needed” basis and let expertise power my decisions along with confidence in knowing the potential outcomes of a solution driven.
